Forty-three Hong Kong transplant athletes and two living donors traveled to Dresden, Germany in August 2025 to participate in the 25th World Transplant Games. They achieved an impressive haul of 9 gold, 12 silver, and 25 bronze medals — a total of 46 events and 55 medals. A celebration ceremony was held yesterday (October 5). The event was officiated by Dr. Lam Man‑kin, Director of Health; Dr. Wong Yiu‑chung, Director of Cluster Services of the Hospital Authority; and Dr. Leung Che‑hung. The athletes fulfilled the pledge they made at the send‑off rally: ‘They compete carrying the organs of their donors. They will devote their heart, mind, and strength to do their very best — to bring honor to their great benefactors and to bring glory to Hong Kong!’
